Onverse exists because AI changed the economics of building operating systems. What used to require teams, agencies, and months of ramp can now be built and maintained by a small group working closely with founders. Michael built Onverse to do that work — a Systems Partner for founder-led companies that want to move faster without adding headcount or handing off to a deck.

The thesis is backed by two decades of building operating and growth systems across DTC, B2B, hospitality, and entertainment media.

Early in his career, Michael was part of an ownership group that acquired and sold premium category domains (Hobbies.com, Boating.com, Yachting.com, and Biking.com). Two standouts were SportsMemorabilia.com and HollywoodMemorabilia.com — businesses they built and scaled from the ground up through organic search, paid media, marketplace distribution on eBay, Amazon, and Walmart, and affiliate networks, and both were ultimately acquired by category leaders.

As co-founder and COO of SportsMemorabilia.com, he built and ran the operating systems across commerce, logistics, marketing, and partnerships that scaled the business to $22M in annual revenue before its acquisition by Michael Rubin and integration into Fanatics in 2013. At Fanatics, he served as a marketing executive and made an early bet on athlete-driven media, recognizing that athletes were becoming audience builders who would reshape commerce at scale. His business unit would continue to grow past $50M in part of $500M division inside a multi-billion enterprise.

That thesis on audience continues to shape the work. One company he worked with was selected by Shopify as the only merchant out of 2.1 million to produce a feature-length documentary, screened for all 12,000 Shopify employees at their global summit.

Through Onverse, Michael works with ambitious founder-led companies. For enterprise engagements, he tag-teams with a former Fortune 500 data and analytics executive to match the depth and pace enterprise work demands.
